That Fateful Night

The Joynt, Eau Claire

Matthew saw Jen first. Dancing at bar close.
As she flung her golden locks,
He was captivated by her energy.

At a later date, Jen was out with friends at The Joynt.
She was feeling very talkative.  And brave.

Matthew arrived at The Joynt with his band.
He had just finished playing a rock show.
Jen liked his green visor with white letters spelling "Matthew".
And at 2:30am, outside the bar... she told him so.

Matthew told her, "You're a beautiful girl."
They attended a small after-bar party.
They kissed on some stairs.

And took the long way home...
Because Jen got lost.

Then they fell in love!

The Proposal

Great River Bluffs State Park MN

It was a beautiful October day, and we were camping with friends.   We all decided to take a hike, and Matthew told our friends "the plan".   He was going to pop the question while we were at a beautiful overlook above the Mississippi River Valley.

Our friends let us get ahead of them as we reached the overlook.   As usual, Matthew took out his tripod, and I got ready to "be patient" through the numerous pictures I'd have to pose for.   After one photo, Matthew set the timer and came back to be in the second picture with me... and he got down on one knee!  I was very happy and surprised.  We have a beautiful picture of Matthew proposing.

It was awesome.
